Brighter Horizons Brighton has developed a four session group consultation package for families, friends or partners based on the principles of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. This group is designed specifically to support families, friends or partners of people who are engaging in impulsive or harmful behaviours (e.g. self-harm, substance misuse or eating disorders). The package helps families, friends or partners to understand the problem behaviour and identify strategies based on a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy framework. Please contact us for more information or to find out whether this could be helpful for you. We usually run this package in a group format for up to 6 carers, and can offer bespoke 1-1 options if required.

This short session will explain how the group helps carers develop practical strategies and a deeper understanding of emotion dysregulation and related challenges.
During the introduction, we will:
Outline the structure and content of the 4-session group
Share key ideas about understanding and responding to emotional distress
Explain how the group supports carers to feel more confident and less alone
Give you the opportunity to ask questions and see if the programme is right for you
